Ms. Amandla Ooko-Ombaka

Amandla Ooko-Ombaka is a partner at McKinsey & Company focused on sustainable food systems. She leads McKinsey’s global work on integrated land use management, and the Global Food Security Initiative. She is a development economist with a public sector heart, a private sector mind and a passion for getting things done. She works with governments to transform their agricultural sectors, and with private sector agricultural input and food companies in the broader food system to better serve their farmers and consumers. She is a published across academic journals including Nature Plants, and perspectives on Africa.com, BBC, Business Daily, CNBC, and CNN. She serves on several boards including the Leadership Council of Harvard Center for African Studies that she co-chairs, Regen Organics (FreshLife) and LendHer. She holds a BA from Yale University, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and an MPA-ID from Harvard Kennedy School. Before joining McKinsey, Amandla served as a lecturer in economics at Strathmore University, and as strategy advisor to several global S&P and FTSE companies.
